    Reviewed Vegetable Fried Brown Rice

"I followed the recipe exactly and this turned out horrible. Boiling the cooked rice, step 1, made it turn into a giant lump of squishy, creamy rice. In the end there were no individual grains of rice but rather just a pile of squished rice-type substance. I was expecting a lot more from this recipe given the description."

    Reviewed Amish White Bread

"I have tried a thousand different times and a thousand different recipes and I have *never* had any success baking bread. Until I tried this one!! So easy, and it turns out beautifully. I like to use bread flour for it. The inside is moist and soft and the outside has just a slight crusty texture. Absolutely perfect! Thank you. :)"

    Reviewed Tofu Egg Salad

"I first made this 2 years ago. My 5 kids, aged between 3 and 10, absolutely LOVE it! It has a fantastic flavor and I serve it on sandwiches. The kids always ask for it and I make it at least twice a month. It's so quick and easy to put together and I love finding recipes that we all, as vegans, enjoy. We prefer it with the dill left out and just a ..."

    Reviewed Kfc Coleslaw

"Thank you!! Tastes just like KFC's coleslaw. Which was always a favorite of mine but I don't patronize their business since becoming vegan. It's nice to be able to make this at home! Easy, quick, DELICIOUS!"

    About Me

I'm 34 and a SAHM to my gorgeous 5 children. I have 4 boys aged 8, 7, 6 & 5 and a baby girl who is 2. Needless to say I have plenty of people to cook for. :)

I'm vegan and raising my children vegan also. I cook everyday and rarely make the same thing twice as I just love to try new things. I experiment constantly with recipes, tweaking them based on my children's taste and what's available in my fridge and pantry.

I try to avoid processed foods, limit soy, and focus on organic whenever possible. Our diet consists of mainly fruit, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, and nut/rice milks.

Even though my children keep me busy and I homeshool them, I make the time to cook 99% of what we eat from scratch. I also, obsessively, listen to music constantly. I get jittery if I go too long without music.

    Favorite Foods

I love Mexican food and potatoes in absolutely any form - hash browns, mashed, fries, baked, scalloped, potato chips ... YUM.

My 8 year old son will eat mostly anything, and isn't overly picky. His favorite dinner is chickpea pot pie. He loves fresh fruit and raw vegetables.

My 7 year old son is the foodie in the house. He will eat absolutely anything and isn't afraid to try something new, no matter how strange it may seem. He loves to help me cook and is fascinated with food preparation. He loves pretty much everything. He has an uncanny ability to identify ingredients in a food based on taste, when no-one else in the room even notices the flavor. It's hard to say what his favorite thing is because he loves most things!

My 6 year old son is a picky eater. He loves fresh fruit. He's not very willing to try new things but I'm sure he'll grow out of that. He adores fresh blueberries and grapes, loves peanut butter sandwiches and dried fruit, and hates tomatoes and anything with even a hint of spiciness.

My 5 year old son doesn't seem very picky at all. He loves fruit and nuts. He can't get enough rice crackers, grapes or dried fruit. He, surprisingly, loves extremely spicy salsa.

My 2 year old daughter has just started eating solids and LOVES food. She loves most fruits the most and crackers.

I think there isn't much more important than nourishing my children's bodies with healthy food and teaching them the importance of healthy eating, while also respecting the planet and all animals.
