    Reviewed Lenten Apple Cake

     |  By ChefCrittersMom

"This is an excellent cake! The apple flavour comes through so well, and it's extremely moist. I left out the raisins, and used about 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. I also decreased the oil to 1/3 cup. Made it for a friend who's daughter has an egg & dairy allergy. They loved it! Since the previous reviewer had trouble getting the cake out of the pan,..."

"We really enjoyed this! It was a nice change from the traditional pasta based lasagne. I also added some chopped red pepper (green pepper would be good too, and a sprinkle of hot chilies. Quick to make, lower in carbs, and very yummy! We're looking forward to the leftovers today. Thanks for posting."

Reviewed Macaroni and Cheese for Mom and Dad
    Handle
     |  By Sarah_Jayne

"4 stars. This macaroni and cheese has excellent flavor. I really like the sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in it, and the mixture of gouda and cheddar gave it a great cheesy taste. I used whole wheat macaroni, about 1 1/2 tbsp margarine instead of butter, skim milk, and veggie broth for the wine. Good luck. Reviewed for RSC#11."

"5 stars! What a wonderful vegetarian lasagne! I halved the recipe and it served 4. The roasted vegetables were excellent, and so was the unique sauce. the lasagne served up neatly and kept its shape on the plate. The flavors all worked so well together! I would call this a "special occasion" lasagne and would certainly make it again. Good luck. Ma..."

"4 stars. I served this open faced on a bagel half which made it a bit messy to eat! Pita pockets would work much better. I found the apple flavor a bit overpowering. Perhaps my apple was too big?! This certainly was a unique combination of ingredients and curry is definitely the correct spice. I used 3 hard boiled eggs and got 5 servings out of ..."

     |  By **Tinkerbell**

"3 stars. This biscotti had a nice flavor, but wasn't really crunchy even when cooled. The instructions don't say when to add the almond extract. I baked the logs for 25 minutes and still found them somewhat raw in the middle. I sliced the logs into 1/2 inch pieces which gave me 32 biscotti. I also found I needed to bake the slices an extra 10 mi..."

     |  By Lainey6605

"4 stars. This was a very pretty soup with the dark green spinach leaves, red sun dried tomatoes, and yellow cheese tortellini. I think the sun dried tomatoes really gave the soup a wonderful flavor along with the spices. The only complaint I have is that the cheese seemed to stick to the ladel and tablespoon I was eating it with. Yummy neverthel..."

"5 stars! I've never baked a fritatta in the oven before so this was something new. I scaled the recipe down to serve just 1 and baked it in a ramekin in the toaster oven. It baked up nice and round, and the artichokes were evenly distributed throughout. Very enjoyable! Made and reviewed for RSC#11."

"5 stars! These muffins were excellent! So nice and fluffy and soft and flavorful. At first I was skeptical about the amount of spinach the recipe called for, but it worked really well. We served them with soup. They will become a regular at our house! Made and reviewed for RSC #11. Good luck!"

"4 stars! These little bites made great appetizers. The artichoke and pine nut flavors are quite prominent so if these are two tastes you like, then these are for you. Easy to make and look quite cute on a platter. I served them with soup for lunch. Made and reviewed for RSC#11."
