I am 37 years old and a new grandma (Abby was born in March 2010). She is the light of my life!!
I started baking a few months ago when I realized how relaxing it was for me. Stress is a killer and I found anxiety to be a huge factor in my day to day life. I wanted to bake a fresh apple pie (crust from scratch) for no apparent reason. I am the "pop it in the microwave" kind of mom who never cooked for my kids. Where in the world did the notion come from that I could make a pie all from scratch. I did it and it came out great. I turn on an audiobook in the kitchen on the iPod and start baking. All the stress in my life just fades away as I'm creating my little masterpiece.
Life is very fast paced for me so I don't find much time to squeeze in baking but I long for it and am thrilled when I get to find time to make something that my familiy will enjoy.
