"I can't eat potato soup at Outback because it contains wheat flour (like 99.9% of other restaurants. Subbed 6 Tbs. cornstarch for the flour in this recipe; it's easy, hearty, inexpensive - a family favorite. Thanks for sharing!"

"Perfect, perfect, perfect! Soda bread doesn't get any better than this. We leave out the raisins and caraway seeds due to family preference. Third time around, I subbed 1-2/3 cups sour fat-free milk for the sour cream; couldn't taste a significant difference when it came out of the oven. Perfect side for lamb stew, weekday breakfast, etc."

"DEE-LISH-US!!! Tastes so close to the real deal, which is about $7.99 a jar in the NYC area. Used a #10 can of crushed tomatoes in puree; 1 tsp. onion powder in place of fresh; 1/2 tsp. garlic powder instead of cloves; and 2 tsp. dried basil instead of fresh. Simmered about three hours all together. Watched it vanish in minutes...didn't see my..."

"Worthy of lifting the ban on plate-licking! Subbed finely ground white rice flour for the all-purpose flour due to a wheat allergy. Used 2 tsp. onion powder instead of the fresh chopped onion. Even just 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt was too much for our taste; maybe the Banquet/Swift Premium brown & serve patties I used are higher in sodium than the ..."
