    Reviewed Arrachera Beef Marinade

    Saturday, Apr 26, 2014 on Food.com

Delicioso! Every year we go to Mexico for vacation. Arrachera is one of our favorite meals, but until now I haven';t been able to duplicate it at home. This recipe made a tender flank steak full of flavor! Next time I';d like to get the outside charred a bit more, but no matter what, this recipe is a keeper! Mucho gracias!"

    Reviewed Kielbasa Soup

    Tuesday, Jan 21, 2014 on Food.com

If I could give this soup 10 stars I would! Simple, fast and FULL of flavor! I was concerned there wasn';t enough liquid even tho I used the 3 cups of water. So my only alteration was to mix the bean soup with 1/2 can of water before adding it. (oh yes, I added 1 tsp of beef bouillon too)"

New Topic Pork Temple Meat recipes? in Recipe Requests - General

    Saturday, Jan 18, 2014 on Food.com

"In my hometown the local grocery stores (not big chains) sell Pork Temple meat or "Pork Cutlets". These little tenderized pillows of meat are about 2-3 inches round. I'm told they were an ethnic choice of meat, because it was cheap enough for the poor, southern railroad workers to buy 3 generations ago.

Is anyone familiar with this and have int..."

"this recipe came from "Extreme Lo-Carb Meals on the Go",by Sharron Long. Her whole cookbook is amazing, different and delicious! Instead of boneless pork use 6 lbs bone-in meat (pork, chicken or turkey)

The author recommends pork - so do I. (I used a 4lb pork loin - not much fat or debris)"

Reviewed White Fish In Herbed Butter

    Friday, Nov 15, 2013 on Food.com

I am constantly discouraged as I';ve sought lo-carb fish recipes. We "grew-up" on fresh fish, battered and deep fried. That';s the only kind, right? Well since lo-carb is the only diet that works for me I';ve tried dozens of recipes and all have disappointed...until this one! I';m wild about this fish! I made it exactly as directed...

Reviewed Cheat n' Eat Vietnamese Chicken Soup

    Sunday, Oct 20, 2013 on Food.com

I found this recipe after searching for lo-carb main dishes - I made it today and will add it to the menu regularly! A few changes I made - just because I hadn';t thawed the chicken ahead of time: I used left over rotisserie chicken that I sauteed with the garlic, ginger & red pepper flakes; the package of cellophane noodles listed the carbs ...

Reviewed Mamma Caye's Gazpacho De Blanco (White Cold Soup)

    Saturday, Aug 3, 2013 on Food.com

This soup is fantastic! I always thought I HATED Gazpacho, but this proved me wrong. I made it in the blender, and the 3rd cup of broth didn';t fit. I forgot to add it later, so ate it w/o all the liquid. It was nicely thick and full of taste. I wonder if the 3rd cup of liquid would have resulted in a watery consistence? No matter what, it was...

    Reviewed Lynn's Famous Gazpacho

    Saturday, Aug 3, 2013 on Food.com

45 years ago my sister returned from school in Spain and made Gazpacho for the family. I took one look at that lumpy, cold soup and KNEW I did not like it. Have never tried it since - until this recipe! OH MY GOSH have I missed out! This was wonderful - full of flavor, refreshing, and super easy. What could be better? This will become a regular s...

Reviewed Lemons & Limes With Vinegar & Salt Brine

    Thursday, Jul 4, 2013 on Food.com

This was not "good" as 3 stars indicates, but maybe the problems with it were my fault? I was so intrigued by the recipe I made it 2 weeks ago. It smelled heavenly! In my mind, it was full of vinegar, so I can ignore the directions regarding length of time in the fridge. Right? ...maybe not. Today I took it out - LOVED the smell, but tried a teas...

Reviewed Sour Cream Rhubarb Crumb Pie

    Sunday, Jun 30, 2013 on Food.com

The flavor was outstanding in this pie, sweetness didn';t overpower the tang of the rhubarb - it was a perfect balance between tangy, sour & sweet. But the consistency was VERY soupy. I';m not sure why - I followed the directions exactly. Unfortunately the runny filling will eliminate this recipe from my cookbook."

Reviewed Puerto Rican-Style Roast Pork Shoulder

    Wednesday, Jun 26, 2013 on Food.com

I';d give the marinade a 5, but the meat was a 1 or 2. I';m not sure if it was my fault?

I marinated the meat 12 hours. I assumed I was to put it in the oven uncovered on the rack (?). After 2 1/2 hours (3 lb pork) the meat was tough and stuck to the bone, & pale.

    (the marinade had a wonderful,...

Reviewed Pickled Daikon and Red Radishes With Ginger

    Wednesday, Jun 26, 2013 on Food.com

I really wanted to like this recipe. The daikon got limp and soft. The red radishes lost all fire. Maybe more vinegar? More salt? It was just too bland for me."

Absolutely wonderful - my husband does not like marinated meats normally, but he loved this dish! He';s already had the leftovers for breakfast!

I wasn';t sure what "minced chili" was, so I used some ground chili. Right or wrong, the chicken tasted great! Thank you."

Reviewed Teriyaki Beef Brisket for the Crock Pot

    Saturday, Apr 27, 2013 on Food.com

I';m not sure why we weren';t impressed... the meat fell apart, so I ended up with shredded beef. It seemed to have that same-ol-same-ol crockpot taste. Brisket is pretty expensive to be less than thrilled. Sorry."

Just like previous reviewers said - easy and good! Next time I';ll work to get the chicken more golden, this time is was a bit pale. The sauce was great - even my husband thought so - despite me prediciting he';s scoff at the whole thing. I';m adding this to my Lo-Carb Cookbook and will make it again."

I'm embarrassed to admit that this recipe introduced me to rice. I thought all rice was like the mushy, tomato-y rice we had for school lunches, but this dish opened a whole new world for me! I found it to be very good & easy. I wonder if some would find it too peppery, but not me! I've been craving it ever since I first made it! I used basmati r...
