    Reviewed Zucchini Relish

"I made this last summer and forgot to rate it. This relish is terrific and gets better with age. It made wonderful Christmas gifts and my son in law has asked that I make it again this summer. There are lots of zucchini relish recipies out there, but this one was such a hit, I don't want to mess with success so I'm making it again. Yummo

Reviewed Hot Pepper Butter (Mustard) for Canning

"Oh MY! What can I say about this wonderful recipie that hasn't already been said? I took other's advice and mixed my flour with water in the mustard jar and shook it up so there were no lumps. I also added a heaping spoonfull of finely diced garlic for a little extra kick. I am NOT a fan of hot foods (I'm Norweigan) but this is a keeper. It's ..."

New Topic ...a question in Community Cafe

"What is the logic behind some magazines like Martha Stewart's Living's layout. You get to the last few pages and they are upside down, and the back cover is upside down. It's only for a few pages. Why do they do this? Inquiring minds want to know."

New Topic Memorial Day in Community Cafe

"Yesterday my church had the dedication ceremony for a veteran's memorial. It's wonderful to see how the community turned out and supported the construction of this memorial. Without advertising, their goal was to raise $12,000 and $20,000 was collected. It's a wonderful monument to veteran's. I'm a veteran of the VietNam era and I'm proud to se..."

    About Me

I am a retired healthcare executive. My career was in Seattle and I now live on the other side of the state enjoying the four seasons. I do miss Seattle and the more moderate climate, but don't miss the traffic and cost of living. Of course, our 5 feet of snow a couple years ago  made me (momentarily) quesiton our decision to move.
I love collecting recipies and cooking "comfort food" on these cold winter days.
I've been a zaar member since it started. I miss Troy and Gay, but love the site and the friends I have made on zaar.
