    Reviewed Pecan Pie Bars

"Before I tasted these, I was planning on rating them at four stars. Here's why: 1) The filling is "softer" than I like. I'll experiment with some flour added to the filling to firm it up so it will stay put when cut. 2) The crust is just BARELY light brown before adding filling...not what I was thinking of when I read "...until brown". 3) Step ..."

    About Me

Although I love to cook and bake, I'm MOST passionate about my family. Thirteen years ago, I married my best friend, and I believe we love each other more now than ever. We have three (of course, beautiful) children ages 7, 4 and 2 years old. We live in a small town (at almost 7,000 feet in altitude), and are happy to report that we live over 100 miles (one way) from the nearest WALMART! :)

Besides keeping my family and friends well-fed :), I love to read and scrapbook. Our area is very well-suited to outdoor activities, so our family enjoys brisk, long walks or hikes, as well as challenging bike rides through our hilly terrain. (After bearing 3 children - and ESPECIALLY after locating this FABULOUS website - I think I'll have to make a determined effort to concentrate more on the exercise!) ;)

    Favorite Foods

I LOVE Mexican cuisine, and my husband and I share a goal of visiting Rick Bayless' Chicago restaurant at least once in the next two years!!!! I also love Italian food, but am not fond of strange or strong cheeses. I particularly like to make muffins of all sorts. Also, one dish meals are great for their convenience at this point in my life!

I love to cook with quality ingredients, and love to try new recipes! My husband is also a FABULOUS cook and he's quite adventuresome, so his cooking is a treat I always look forward to.
