    My Journal

I have no recent activity to share.

    About Me

Just moved to Maple Shade, NJ. I got married in October 2004. I love to cook and read. My favorite cookbook of all time is The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian.

I love to plan parties with my sister. We make a great team. She comes up with the theme and I cook to match it. We have done a Caribbean party, a Garden party baby shower and we are currently working on an old-fashioned 50's clam bake.

If I had a month off, I would take some cooking and catering classes and then hopefully open my own sandwich shop.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite dish to cook is pasta carbonara. It was the first really difficult recipe I ever attempted, and when it came out looking like the picture in the book, I was sooo excited. I am more famous in my family for the things I can't cook, than what I can. For some reason, I can cook really difficult things, but ordinary white rice, hard-boiled eggs and baked potatoes evade me. I am starting to get a handle on the hard-boiled eggs, and if I want a baked potato just for me, I go to Wendy's and buy it.

The things I would love to make, but have never attempted, are my gram's ravioli and her lady locks. I am intimidated by the lady locks and my mom makes the ravioli, and they are just as good.
