    About Me

Well, let's see...I am an American living in Germany. I should say a Texan living in Bavaria :). I am a freelance English teacher in my area, however, there isn't much work during the winter months and it is pretty sporadic during the rest of the year, so I like to cook. I think I'm a pretty good cook, my husband seems to think so at least...or he hasn't said anything to the contrary. I am still trying to learn how to cook Tex-Mex in Germany. There are no Fiesta's here and that is a shame.

My next venture in cooking will be learning how to cook German food. The food here is WONDERFUL, however a bit too salty for my taste, so I need to alter the recipes a bit. My mother-in-law is the best cook I know and as soon as I get her schnitzel recipe, I will post it!

The pooch in the picture is my Charlie. As of October 2008 he is 10 months old...he is growing fast! I also enjoy cooking for him. I have found some awesome dog treat recipes on here!

The other picture up here is of my husband and I coming out of the church after our wedding. :)

    Favorite Foods

I don't really have a favorite dish to cook...I like to cook them all. My favorite dish to eat would have to be basil, tomato and feta quiche...absolutely to die for. I guess that would be my famous dish...that or my banana bread. They don't really have anything like a banana bread here. One time I brought two loaves for a birthday celebration and it was the first thing gone.

During the summer I like anything strawberry! I just discovered an amazing strawberry rhubarb pie recipe and have adapted it to my personal tastes...it is the most requested dessert that I make now....that and banana bread!
