    Shared Recipe Vegan Gingerbread Cookies

"This recipe is from vegweb.com. I was pleasantly surprised as to how wonderful these turned out. Made them for my vegan boss for Bosses' Day for a nice fall treat. I upped the amount of fat and milk listed on the recipe because I ended up with sand instead of dough. The dough seems to be very "fixable," so if the dough isn't coming together for you..."

Shared Recipe Chocolate Oatmeal Smoothie - the Perfect Post-Workout Breakfast

"This is my most favorite post-workout breakfast smoothie. Who knew oatmeal could taste so amazing in a smooth, creamy, protein & fiber-packed smoothie? The ingredients in this recipe are ideal for post workout nutrients to feed and help recover lean muscle. Ricotta cheese is pure whey protein, so if you don't have protein mix, skipping it is fine -..."

    About Me

My name is Jessica, I'm 25 years old and from the small town of Ozark, Alabama.

Just moved to Pensacola, FL, with my wonderful new husband (he's in officer in the USMC...oorah) and I LOVE to cook. It's a passion of mine, it makes me happy, relaxes me, and I love sharing my creations with others... I'm thankful God's blessed me with the skill and will continue to cherish sharing it with others. I can't leave out that my husband (and his friends) are quite appreciative too :)

My parents are from rural Louisiana, so that definitely influences my taste. Most everything needs a little kick! I've worked for a couple fine dining restaurants when I was in college in Birmingham for Frank Stitt, and so my appreciation for fine ingredients, cheeses, wines, techniques, freshness, et cetera has grown along with my palette and desire to take on new challenges in the kitchen.

If I had any culinary pet peeves, it would be cooks not tasting their food before they serve it. Even I might add too much salt sometimes!

I am a fitness enthusiast on top of my cooking passion... sometimes they do NOT go hand in hand, but it's a matter of balance, and I have definitely honed in on ways I can make a dish healthier, using whole, clean ingredients, and replacing certain ingredients with healthier ingredients. It's actually kind of fun!
