    About Me

I am a working mother with a 6 year old daughter.  With little free time, I am always on the look out for something quick yet savory. In addition to finding yummy, quick meals, I love to find recipes that make "big batches" that will freeze well. Although I haven't yet made the plunge into OAMC, I am "on the verge." If "said recipes" are WW friendly, then even better!

One of my favorite cook books is Italian Immigrant Cooking. The roasted peppers and Easter bread are all time favorites of mine.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite ethnic foods are Polish/Hungarian dishes, Italian, and Mexican. It might sound strange, but I can't pass up anything with cabbage in it.  I LOVE cabbage.  But, I can't pass up a cheeseburger either. :)

In my family, I am famous for my pasta sauce, meatballs, and lasagna as well as for my cookies -- all of them. :) I bake like a crazy woman at Christmas time.

Several years ago, my ailing grandmother lived with me.  We knew her last Christmas was upon us, so we put up the tree long before Thanksgiving and got to baking.  We wanted her to enjoy the holidays early.  She died December 3rd.  Now, we start the celebrating early and bake, bake, bake.  My holiday favorites are poppy seed roll, snickerdoodles, peanut butter blossoms, orange drop cookies, anise cookies, ladyfingers, and spritz.  One cookie we DO NOT MAKE at Christmas time is chocolate chip -- how boring!
