I am a 40 year old wife and mother of 2 teenagers and I love, love, love to cook!
As far back as I can remember, I have always been helping in the kitchen. I remember getting my very first cookbook as a little girl, how excited I was! I wanted to make every single recipe in that cookbook and I am sure I did!
Since my kids were little, I always involved them in cooking our meals. Not only did it help with reading, math and organization skills but it instills such a sense of pride and accomplishment in them. (Not to mention, it also made it more likely for them to eat what they helped make.)
Now that they are teens, meal time is a great time for us to spend some great time together.
I love reading cookbooks for new ideas and I actually read them from cover to cover, like a good mystery book. It gets the wheels spinning in my mind on what I will make next. When I found Recipezaar it just added to that and now I cant live without my favorite go to site for recipes!
If starch is a category thats my favorite-lol! any breads, pastas, potatoes!
My family says I am famous for my meatballs, macaroni and cheese and cheesecakes but I am always tweeking them.
