"This is unbelievably tasty and addictive. Today at a party I put out one of two trays I had made of it...and when that first one got emptied, I didn't put out the 2nd tray because I wanted it all to myself. Sorry, guests, my tastebuds trump yours. ;-)"

"This is a great recipe. I have lost my 5 star recipe and when I find it again will post it, but this one has many of the features of the missing one (and the missing one is more complicated and time consuming--so I liked this quicker version).

Working with food is one of the most rewarding and soothing activities for me. I formerly worked in a fancy restaurant where I was able to learn a lot about French dessert-making techniques, and up until 2004 (when we moved overseas for work) I was happily employed at a small family cafe where continued to hone my cooking techniques!
My favorite foodblog is Orangette. I love her writing and recipes!
I also am a bookworm--my favorite novels are 'Godric' by Frederick Beuchner, 'A Prayer for Owen Meany' by John Irving, and, most recently 'Peace Like a River' by Leif Enger.
If you are familiar with the above books, you might know that they have strong Judeo-Christian themes...likely the reason why they appeal to me. I am also deeply committed to my faith in Jesus Christ.
I love cooking just about everything. I have a lot of experience baking because I love sweets and almost never met a cookie or cake recipe I didn't want to try.
I'm 'famous' for making Bon Appetit's Double Chocolate Torte and Chocolate Lava Cakes. I use Valrhona Bittersweet Chocolate Bars from Trader Joe's as the chocolate in these desserts. Using a fine chocolate makes a huge difference in the quality of the dessert.
My favorite restaurant is Pamplemousse in Del Mar, CA, they make stuff that I can't/won't make at home and do a great job. I also love Thyme in the Ranch, in Rancho Santa Fe, CA--the best eats and job EVER!

"This is a great recipe from Cuisine at Home (Oct 2001). While you can use possum and squirrel, I prefer the beef/chicken version myself!!!"
