    Reviewed Potato Gnocchi

"Wow, this was so cool and so much fun. We had another couple over to make the gnocchi with us. We made it exactly as the recipe stated (except, although I bought the gray salt, I forgot to use it - I used regular salt instead). Before we started, we watched the "Italian Recipes - Shaping Gnocchi Dough" video on YouTube, which helped a lot. Very simple technique. We made a triple batch with some for dinner, and some to freeze and send home with our friends. We used Martha Stewart's Gnocchi with Wild Mushroom Sauce recipe (but with this gnocchi). It was fabulous! And, we had never made gnocchi before. I was so proud of us. :oD Reminded me of the gnocchi I had in Italy. Excellent.

    Reviewed Spicy Chicken Coconut Curry

"Excellent. Hit the spot! Not at all strong in coconut (in fact, I would have enjoyed more coconut flavor - used lite coconut milk), I'm pretty whimpy when it comes to heat, so I used two red chiles (and was nervous). I'd use at least three next time. Other than that, I did make some minor changes... I cooked the coconut mixture (sans the tomatoes, chicken, etc.) for as long as I could (at least an hour). I then added sliced carrots & potatoes (next time, add potatoes later). I also used chicken thighs, which were extremely tender. Besides that, I made it with brown basmati rice & naan on the side,& it was excellent. Recipe makes quite a lot. I'd definitely make it for company. Very yummy. :) Mmmmmmm."

    About Me

I live in Morro Bay, California, about 1/2 a mile from the beach, 20 minutes from San Luis Obispo, California. It's just my husband, Paul, our little Schnoodle, Zenqi and me. Paul and I cook as much as possible together. He calls himself my "soux chef," and does an excellent job of all the chopping, preparing, veggie & meat washing & measuring. I select the recipes, coordinate the menu, do the shopping, concentrating, cooking, adjusting of recipes, & plating. We make a great team & have a lot of fun. Not to mention, we have some excellent meals & wine. The only thing we don't have down very well is the timing, so we end up eating VERY late at night sometimes. Oh well, maybe some day we'll perfect that part. In the meantime, we'll enjoy the process. This is what we do since we're not into TV (except for Gray's Anatomy, of course), really, and we don't have kids.

    Favorite Foods

Oh boy, my favorite foods... well, I have a saying that if it contains balsamic vinegar & goat cheese, it has to be good! ;) We love fresh foods, California cusine, fusion dishes, Moroccan dishes, and lots of other great cusines. As often as possible, I cut sugar, excess fat, and use "healthier choices" of ingredients to replace the "not-so-healthy" ingredients in recipes. Although, I'm not one to sacrifice flavor for only a few calories. Needless to say, I don't prefer extra sweet desserts (instead, I cut back on the sugar), but I do love those desserts, so if you choose my recipes, you might find them less sweet than you may prefer.

Ahh, one more thing, I will never post a recipe without LOVING it, and cooking it myself.

    That's about it!

    Bon Appetit!
