    About Me

    I live in the south but am originally from New York. I have lived down here for 25 years. I am married to my best friend- my husband. He and I have two children, a daughter who is 24 and a son who is 20. My youngest has finally flown the coup and now I think I am suffering from "empty nest" syndrome.

    Aside from decluttering my house of all of my kids stuff they don't want, it'll be interesting to see if I can remember how to cook for just my husband and I and of course any visiting family along the way. :-)

    Favorite Foods

    I started my quest for different foods in the 5th grade during a food festival at school called "Around The World Day." Kid's parents brought in homemade food from their heritage and we all tried it. I learned I just loved about everything I put in my mouth. That is when I started my journey in cooking.

    Over the years I have come to enjoy Greek and Italian foods as my favorites then I met my husband who is Swedish and I added some of those dishes to my list. I have learned to cook some Swedish dishes as a teenager from his grandmother who is from Sweden and my husband has taught me to cook a lot of his favorite Swedish dishes as well. His Mom was a caterer and she made the best "dark" beef gravy from scratch and I learned how to make that from her when I was a would have thought I hit the jackpot...LOL!

    As far as my favorite dishes to cook, my own favorites are veal, chicken, and shrimp parmigiana. I'm famous for my italian sauce and meatballs. My husband also loves to grill out and we both enjoy spending time working on my old recipes as well as creating new ones to make delicious healthy meals.
