    New Topic Question:Pasteles in Cooking Q & A

    "Pasteles
    One of the ingredients for the dough is green bananas, unfortunately the quantity wasn't posted. This is the only recipe for Puerto Rican style pasteles on the site. I would really like to make these but haven't a clue of how many green bananas to use. Help!"

    "Excellent! I've made these several times now, trying out some variations. The most recent being the addition of 3 tbls instant potatoe flakes, 2-3 tbls ground almond to the dough and a bit of nutmeg in the boiling water giving a subtle hint of flavor. Served with a quick sauce of FF half & half & pumpkin puree topped with parmesean cheese & some ..."

    Reviewed Pumpkin Pie

    "I found this recipe ages ago and it is the ONLY pumkin pie recipe as far as I am concerned and thus far everyone who has tasted seems to agree. I like to add a bit of ginger and prefer fresh pumpkin over tinned, either way it's really the most delicious and needless to say 'as easy as pie'... Try it, you certainly won't regret it!!"
