"Yummy! My parents loved it. I messed the frosting, so we ate it plain. No problem. Here some changes I made: Make half the recipe. Separate the egg and beat the white until peaks form. Subbed 1/8 of the sugar for Splenda. Use 1% milk with vinegar for the buttermilk. I even used a cheap cocoa, but next time I'll be sure to use a good brand. Thank y..."

"This recipe is awesome! I did found it a tab bit too sweet, so I will remove a tbsp next time. I used 1 tsp of molasses (it adds a buttery flavor. "After reading all the other review, I decided to make only 1/3 of the recipe, just in case I miss the recipe (I'm a novice baker. Well, guess what? These turned out GREAT! (they were a little bit ugly, but it doesn't mind a bit I even subbed the 1/3 c. of shortening for 1/4 c. of oil. It may have made the dough more sticky, but the result was so..."

"These were good. I followed one reviewer's suggestion for subbing applesauce for the butter, but they stuck to the paper. Next time I'll use just 1/4 c. of oil. However, they still tasted good. Really tender. Orange and cranberry are always a nice combo :. I sprinkled the top with some orange zest to have a stronger orange flavour."
