    Shared Recipe Mom's Pickled Beets

"This is a recipe I enjoyed growing up. Stews, sheppards pie or turkey dinner was always accompanied by these pickled beets. Later once I moved away, pickled beets was always one of those stocking stuffers I hoped for."

Shared Recipe Old Fashion Beet Jelly

"This is a recipe that my Great Aunt Augustine introduced me to over 25 years ago. When she first told me about, all I could think was "Beet Jelly? I don't think so!" It just sounded so strange! But we made a batch together and she then gave me a little on some bread to try. Again, "I don't think so" ran through my head but in our family we alw..."

"On a cold winter morning there is nothing better than a hearty breakfast to start an active day! But you don't need to limit this to breakfast options! This recipe is a great way to use up leftover boiled or baked potatos. So fast (if using leftover potatos) and simple, yet has received many positive reviews from people. Being a lover of the comb..."

    Shared Recipe Beet Salad

"When I was growing up, mom would turn leftover beets into a salad using mayonaise. I didn't particularly care for it. But someone mentioned that that beets pairs well with balsalmic vinegar and lemon. Hmmmm so I tossed together a quick recipe with some leftover beets and I ended up rather enjoying it!"

Reviewed Black Bean Brownies (Gluten Free)

"This was good! But I like brownies with a rich chocolate flavour so next time I will increase the cocoa to 5 or 6 tablespoons and will substitute the oil for melted butter and add a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt to bring out the chocolate flavour. I added the chocolate chips and it was a nice touch! Definitely worth making again!"

    About Me

What can I say? I have been dabbling in the Kitchen for about thirty years and have gone from making Kraft Dinner to preparing international cuisine. Though my cooking skills are far from perfect, I have had a few compliments on the meals that I have provided. I enjoy cooking especially when cooking for friends. I have chosen to post my favourite recipes here on Recipezaar for those who wish to make them and for the friends who keep asking for them! Enjoy!

Favourite foods are difficult to list because I enjoy many. Indian food is one of my favourites but also enjoy African, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese to name but a few.
