    About Me

    I'm a retired grandma who loves to try new recipes. I also want to preserve some of our family's favorite recipes and some of the recipes I inherited from my Mother and Grandmother so my children will have them. I love to cook (but not everyday if I can help it) so I like to cook things that give us left-overs. Also, my hubby takes lunch to work five days a week, so I try to cook things that will heat-up in the microwave at his work. I love to knit, read, bird-watch, tinker in the garden and I am discovering old movies. I am quite fond of cats, and sometimes they appear in my recipes - but not as ingredients :-).Photobucket

    Favorite Foods

    My all-time favorite food is fresh raspberries, preferably right out of the garden, but I like raspberries in nearly any and all states - fresh or cooked. I have quite a sweet tooth (unfortunatelly) so I love all kinds of cookies, cakes and sweets. I like to cook foods that I can prepare fairly early in the day and then cook for a long time, making the house smell good - things like home-made bread, beef stew, soups and roasts. We don't have cable TV, but now that I'm home during the day I love to watch Rachael and Martha and on week-ends all the cooking shows on PTV.
