"I'd love to get some ideas from those of you who love fish...because I don't. Or rather, I don't eat it very often so, I'm not very familiar with it, therefore, don't know where to start. I can not take this fat gut of mine one more minute, so instead of my usual bad habits, it's time to introduce myself to some better-for-you dishes. I'm just look..."

    About Me

I live in Southwestern Missouri and work for the local Public Works Department. I love my job, it's interesting and I find that I laugh alot when I am here. We often talk about food here and I really like to bring things in to share when I have time.
I have two small kids, a 7 year old son and a 14 month old daughter. My son is the pickiest eater on the planet and my baby will eat anything you put in front of her.
My all time favorite cookbooks are community collection types...like chuch collections, ladies groups, etc. They usually have everyone's tried and true dishes so you know it will be outstanding. A few months ago, our charity committee here at work put together a collection cookbook to raise funds and there are so many amazing recipes to try, I'm working my way through them.
Pet peeves..hhhmmm..hypocrisy and an unjustified sense of entitlement.
My favorite dish to cook varies, sometimes it's lasagna, sometimes cilantro chicken enchiladas, meatloaf, whatever I am obsessed with at the moment. I am known for my cheesecake and these ridiculous brownie, marshmallow, peanutbutter krispie bars...so good!
One of my favorite restaurants by far, is a local place in Springfield, MO called Bijan's. The food is so incredible, I crave the bacon wrapped shrimp, the lobster bisque and the grilled cesar salad. If you are ever in the area, it is worth your while to eat there. ALso, Ocean Zen...oh dear...the lobster mac and cheese...and the fried rangoons...there are no words. There is a little lunch place in Nixa called Lolas and they have the most fantastic sandwiches (I LOVE the roman roast beef) soups and desserts (try the coconut cake).

    Favorite Foods

I love to bake, I have a serious addiction to homemade bread, cheesecake, peanut butter, real butter, homemeade ice cream and rasberries. I eat cheese like it's going out of style, I don't care if it's high in fat. Anything that's grilled, be it a hotdog, I'm no snob.
