    About Me

I’m a wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. I love cooking and baking. I have a sweet tooth, but the man I married doesn’t. So I rarely make dessert anymore and I miss it. My husband is a meat and potatoes man, so growing up in the Midwest I know how to cook for him. We try to eat healthy, but it doesn’t always happen and we never stress about it. I don’t mind making a complicated dinner if I know that the end result will be worth it, but I prefer to keep it simple. I am the owner of one crockpot and two Dutch ovens. I work full time, so most dinners I make are cooked low and slow. I love spices and never use anything from a packet. I have very few gadgets and find I can’t justify buying any more. I will buy more plastic spatulas, wooden spoons, and whisks.

We don’t eat locally, organically, or whole foodilly. We’re just a normal couple who try to carve out a bit of time to eat homemade food. We use cans; and only occasionally something from a box. We’re not on a strict budget, but we are careful about what we spend on groceries.
