I live in Cullman, AL and work as a librarian. For fun I cook and bake.
I don't have a favorite cookbook, because I am always adding to my collection of cookbooks. The ones that I use most often include The Mitford Cookbook and Louisiana Entertains. I have been slowly baking my way through two great cookbooks -- All Cakes Considered and Cakes From Scratch in Half the Time. I subscribe to way too many cooking magazines!
I love to cook and bake almost anything, but time constraints (jobs, commute, family, church, etc.) mean that I tend to concentrate on quick menus during the week. My coworkers loved my baked goods, especially my cakes.
I do enjoy going out to eat and my town has a really great restaurant, the All-Steak (despite the name, their seafood dishes are excellent). We used to live in New Orleans and I love the restaurant scene there, but my favorite restaurant in the world is Prejean's in Lafayette, Louisiana.
