"This is a family standard for us, too. It originated in our family during the depression when syrup was scarce. It's in it's 4th generation in our house - with my making it for my children. We mix the dry ingredients, and heat those in a good skillet until hot (not melting, then add in the milk a little at a time until all smooth. Let it boil s..."

"THIS IS NOT 4 POINT FOR A CUP! I calculated with with honey, oil, nuts, Splenda 1/2 brown sugar and oats only, no raisins, etc. At 9 servings at 1/2 cup each, this calculates to 5.48 points, so a cup would be more like 11 points. Confused as to why the notes say 4 pts for a cup, but the recipe makes 12 servings, doesn't calculate. It's 2320 cal..."

"Very good, but not exceptional. This is great for those on a diet, and for those not liking their desert too sweet. I served this with strawberry frozen yogurt. Also cut down the yogurt to 6 oz."

"I combined this recipe with another Danish recipe here on RecipeZaar - just added sugar-free jam instead of the cream cheese. These are marvelous - taste much better than you think they might, given that the dough is canned. Add some extra sugar topping and these stay fresh for days. This recipe goes in the cookbook as a keeper. What a gre..."

"This is a great simple recipe - took me just a few minutes to get this going. I kept the kidney beans out until the 2 hour mark - thought they would be mush by the end of the 8 hours since they are already cooked in the can. The spices were minimal, so I was disappointed by the taste. Ended up adding some chipolte, organo, taco spices, etc."
