    About Me

We live in central Wisconsin. The city is divided by the Wisconsin river. Lots of city parks, walkways by the river. It is a beautiful city with lots of trees and large, lumber baron homes. I've worked for a national engraving/gift business as an assistant manager the last 12 years. This is my second marriage, and he is a wonderful man! Very supportive and loves to eat. I have a 23 yr old son from my first marriage who works full time and lives with us to save money. He loves my cooking and is also not afraid to say something doesn't "cut it" He likes to experiment in the kitchen as well.
Love to read cookbooks, something my husband doesn't understand and have at least 200. Also enjoy gardening, knitting, sewing, photography, making my own cards and especially reading. Our "dog" child keeps us busy too. Love to spend time in the outdoors, traveling and learning new things. I am very curious and if I don't know about something, I have to find out the answer.
My parents are in their 80's and we help them out alot with day to day things and around the house.
My favorite cookbook has to be the old, 70's Pillsbury family cookbook with the yellow cover. My sister-in-law had one and I mentioned that it is a great one, said she never used it and gave it to me. I now have a back-up copy since it is no longer in print. Mine is pretty worn and with lots of notes. But it is the standby when all else fails!

    Favorite Foods

I love to make homemade macaroni and cheese. I use different cheeses each time with a little velveeta for smoothness. Has to be Phil's favorite dish.
My family always requests my cheesecakes for family gatherings. I have quite a few different ones to choose from, but the favorites are a cranberry ribbon, pumpkin and my chocolate. I use almost a pound of chocolate in it and my sister-in-laws beg for it every holiday.
I love fresh tomatoes....not another word to be said! Enjoy most food, like a variety. Don't care too much for real heavy foods with lots of gravy, etc. Guess my favorite meal is a nice beef tenderloin filet topped with a gorgonzola butter....yum...along with a salad and roasted aspargus. My downfall is fresh bread and hardrolls with butter, nice crusty outside and tender inside.
