My motto is that simpler is better. If a recipe requires an obscure or long list of ingredients, I'm not making it.
I grew up in North Carolina, where Southern hospitality abounded, and the food was not fussy. Since my dad got a job in Florida, it has been a little trickier.
Regular Meals: For some odd reason, tomato-based sauces with pasta seem to be my favorites. Serve it with some garlic bread and a simple salad with vinagrette, and I am one happy camper. :) Roast chicken with oven potatoes, barbecue pulled pork, and BLT sandwiches are my favorites, too. I can't list all my favorite foods, because I am constantly finding new ones to enjoy.
I am not a huge seafood fan, but salmon, tuna salad, shrimp, and scallops are very good when done correctly.
Desserts: For me, anything that involves lemons is my favorite. Lemon pound cake, lemon curd, lemon bars, lemon meringue pie, lemon icebox pie- they are all delicious. I also like fudge brownies with ice cream, and apple pie (also with ice cream).
Foods I dislike are olives, parsley, tilapia, blue cheese, cilantro, corn tortillas (smell too sour), sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and grapefruit. Don't worry; I won't be reviewing recipes that require these ingredients, so no bad reviews!
