Shared Recipe A FREEZER MEAL: Slow Cooker BBQ Country Ribs

"I bought the new cookbook by the Six Sisters who blog online. Naturally I had to check out their blog, too, and happened on a blog they wrote about freezer meals. Freezer meals seem to me to be a cross between "Once-a-Month " cooking and the Dump Cicken recipes that were so popular. The sisters' blog claim you can make 8 different recipes or 32 ..."

It is a yummy concoction conceived by Meghan Pembleton and submitted to our newspaper. :You can control some of the calories by your choice of milk in this recipe: use either whole, 2%, 1% or skim. Do not cut back on the half-and-helf, however; yo..."

    About Me

I am happily retired for several years now here in Scottsdale, AZ after teaching school (special education) for a number of years. For fun I collect recipes and quotations. As my husband says, "it's all paper!" I have assembled some of my tried and true recipes into personal cookbooklets that I use for gifts for brides in the family. I enjoy organizing them this way. My favorite cookbook is a family reunion cookbook I compiled for my husband's family. I put in their treasured recipes and numerous anecdotes. I think I treasure it more for the anecdotes, to tell the truth. I also love to do plastic canvas crafting, especially of Christmas -themed subjects.

    Favorite Foods

I began cooking for my family while still in my teens. Seems like I have always
liked to cook. As to my favorite foods, I have adopted most of my husband's favorite recipes from his growing-up days: chicken and dumplin's , chicken-fried steak, American chop suey, etc. (He is a true southerner--I'm from a suburb of Chicago.) I think I have to say, now, that my most favorite recipes to cook are the quick and easy type with limited ingredients. My favorite restaurant is any one where I can sit down and get served!! I lean toward Mexican food restaurants and I used to love the Bohemian restraurants back in my old hometown Don't find too many of those in AZ, however!
