    Reviewed Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

"This is the first time I've attempted made-from-scratch biscuits, so I'm not going to rate this recipe. Mine didn't turn out at all. I followed the instructions and tried to handle the dough as little as possible. The biscuits didn't rise from the 1/2 inch I cut them at. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I think I'll stick to frozen biscuits from n..."

"I really, really wanted to like this, but it was just edible to me. It would be nice to have a low carb substitute for the real thing. The egg and cream cheese mixture just didn't make a good crust. I'm sure some people would like it, but it's not for me."

    About Me

Hello! My name is Lindsey, and I'm from Southern Ohio. I'm a registered nurse. I've been married for 11 years and have a beautiful baby boy, Miles, who was born February 20, 2009, and a precious baby girl, McKenna, born December 28, 2011. I always said I wasn't going to have any kids, but I'm so glad I changed my mind. Children are truly a gift from God, and I thank Him every day for the wonderful blessings He has bestowed on my family.

I love reading, learning, going to church, traveling, canoeing, and exploring the great outdoors. I also love to cook! My friends and family make fun of me for spending so much time on RecipeZaar, but they certainly don't complain when I find a great recipe!

    Favorite Foods

My favorite types of food are Italian, Mexican, Greek, and seafood. I'm not much of a dessert person, but my husband loves them, so it seems like I am always trying out new cake and cookie recipes. I don't post many of my own recipes because I get most of them here.

***My biggest pet peeve on RecipeZaar is when people give low ratings after changing the recipe or substituting ingredients. I have no problem with tweaking and do it quite often myself, but if it doesn't work out, I don't blame it on the recipe or the person who submitted it!***

    My rating system:
5 stars - Love it! Will definitely make again!
4 stars - Very good! May tweak a little next time!
3 stars - Okay. It was worth a try!

I've never felt the need to give less than 3 stars. I look at the ingredients carefully before I make all recipes, and I don't try anything I don't think I'll like!
