"This is a wonderful apple pie recipe! The only changes I made were to increase the cinnamon to 3/4 tsp, decrease the sugar to 3/4 cup (my apples were sweeter) and added a pinch of salt. I didn't even bother to completely peel the apples and it turned out great! Thanks for posting (:"

"Made this for the first time last night and followed it pretty close except that I used 1 lb ground venison and 1 lb ground beef for the beef portion. Also, my roaster was pretty full and I used a whole quart of my stewed tomatoes so didn't add the chicken broth. The dish turned out FABULOUS and had lots of wonderful flavor. About Me

When I'm not outdoors playing softball, golfing, hunting, biking, etc., you can find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes! I love to cook! However, baking is not my forte ): I also love spending time with my daughter Lacey (17 months), husband Frank and "the Lou dog"! We're crazy about hanging outdoors so we head to the cottage or camp almost every weekend.

It gets pretty cold in northern Michigan so I especially like cooking soups, roasts and anything with venison! I'll try any recipe once - sometimes it's a hit and sometimes a disaster. That is what I love about Recipe Zaar, rated recipes and tons of ideas!

    Favorite Foods

Because hunting is huge in our area and venison is such a big part of our diet, I would have to say one of my favorite dishes is good old fashioned fried venison and onions. Not to mention, all the roasts and lean burger we get to enjoy. And because most of the deer around here browse on farm land, the meat is very mild and tender. Most people don't even know they are eating venison!

But, I love all types of food and try to keep an open mind when it comes to cooking. Also, I'm always looking for recipes that are similar to some of my favorite restaurant dishes such as Italian, soups and seafood.

Love seafood but it isn't necessarily the freshest around here except for the fish from our many inland lakes and Lake Huron. Still looking for that perfect Seafood or Clam Chowder recipe, especially after enjoying it so much in Ireland a few years ago. If you have one, please let me know!
