"This was a little too sweet for me. I made a double batch but didn't use it all. I think I'll add just a little bit of lemon juice to the rest."

"Loved these. Just a little sweet for me. I'll cut back on the sugar even more next time."

"These were simple to make. I had half of an apple left from another meal and needed to use it. My mom is terrible at eating fruit but loves bread and sweets. I hated the thought of that bland apple (it wasn't the best apple and dough so I added cinnamon to the mix. Some of my fritters were moderately sized but the dough cooked perfectly and t..."

"Great Recipe. I used nuts, sesame seeds, oats, wheat germ, coconut, craisins, and raisins. The only thing I did differently with the recipe is to toast the grains and nuts before adding the syrup for a deeper flavor. They were chewy like I like them and held together excellently. I shared them with some friends and now they want the recipe. T..."

"Great recipe. I never find sweetened condensed mild when I go into the market so this is great! Also with "Nido" powdered milk you can't even tell it wasn't from the can. Thanks"

"Oops! I was thinking, wow, these have great flavor but they are so heavy! I couldn't figure out why until I remembered that I measured the pumpkin intending to double the recipe and then followed the rest of the recipe as is. They still turned out very tasty and I plan on doing it again with more care. I still gave it 5 stars because I think t..."

"Great! I made these for some of our team and they loved them. I used powdered buttermilk because that is all i have when I am in Africa and I like it better than the substitute. Thanks"

"Simple recipe that turned out well with some changes. It has a nice consistency and flavor. I didn't think it had enough flavor though so I used two cups of home made enchilada sauce and added a little more water. I also didn't add the bouillon or the carrots. Overall I have used this recipe for a few years now and really like it."

"5 stars because I live in West Africa and they know how to cook beans. I fixed these the other day and my worker said "you really know how to cook beans." That's a pretty high compliment. I really don't like beans but sometimes, when I talk myself into it, I can handle Black-Eyed or black beans. I agree they are best when they are cooked in a ..."

"I got this recipe from a friend several years ago and make it all of the time. It's best when you take it out just before the toothpick comes out clean. When I take it to events it's usually one of the first cakes gone. What a bummer since I always hold out hope that there will be a little bit leftover."
