    About Me

This is a picture of my daughter and I at a Ravens party a number of years ago! Go RAVENS!!  BTW, she is now married and has her own zaar page.

I am a retired goverment employee who is back in the full time work force.

I have always done the majority of the cooking since we married 30 years ago. My children are now grown (2 of the 3 are married) but still come home for Dad's home cooking. Hobbies, in addition to cooking, includes hunting, fishing, working with the Boy Scouts and active within my church where I do a lot of crowd cooking.  I am also really into the preserving/canning.  I also enjoy entering my efforts in the local county and state fairs.

One thing that really gets me is when someone says they can't cook.  That is a crock of you know what!!  If you can read and follow directions you can cook.  I would rather the person say they DON"T WANT TO COOK!  That to me is more acceptable!

Now that I am growing into the retirement years my efforts to experiment is even more now. I still enjoy going out for an occasional treat, (especially seafood) but I really have been enjoying the additional time and opportunities to try making new things. Recipezaar has enabled us to try new dishes from all over the world and this has opened my culinary eyes to what can be done at home.
