"If you've followed any of my recipes on Food.com or my blog (www.baileytriplef.blogspot.com), you will know that while I love to experiment and try anything new, I happen to be very opinionated with a few specific things. Pizza is one of those things. I make pizza fairly often - I follow Chris Bianco's dough recipe and this pure sauce recipe with..."

Shared Recipe Aromatic Chick Pea (Garbanzo Bean) Soup

"This is a recipe that I created after being inspired by a TV show and the season. I posted it on my blog (www.baileytriplef.blogspot.com) on 12/27/10). For some reason, I am craving it today regardless of the summer heat. The recipe calls for canned beans, which is all I had on hand the day I created the recipe but you can use dried (soaked, e..."

Shared Recipe Nutty Pasta With Wilted Winter Greens

"I am one of those uber-crazy-couponing nerds and found myself with an assortment of about 40 boxes of free dried pasta this past winter. With the spirit of not wasting it, I became very creative in finding ideas to use it....and besides....if the pasta was free, I figured I could splurge on great fresh vegetables and cheeses! I am writing th..."

    About Me

I am a pretty good home cook and a Food Network junkie. Every time I host an event or create a new dish, my confidence grows....I'm always testing new ideas and sometimes (I'm a nerd) that dreams in food.

I wish I had the nerve to make cooking (or maybe photography) my day job, but unfortunately the industry is not very family friendly.  At least I get to spend time experimenting and blogging.

Food inspires me in so many ways. I love to take existing recipes, fresh produce, and old memories from my past to make my own dishes and create new memories for my family and friends. I often host fun dinner parties, baby showers, wine tastings, family holiday gatherings, and other interesting get-togethers where the food helps us to have fun.

I also LOVE cooking with and for my son. I am always creating fun, simple and healthy after school snacks and dinners that go way beyond simple instant mac & cheese. Its also a great learning experience for my kid. My son loves to pick the fresh herbs for recipes from our tiny garden and already knows many of the plants by look and smell now. He also helped me to make bread last summer, which led to some internet research about yeast and the science behind baking. It was a really fun experience.

Overall, I'm known as that girl next door that LOVES to cook good food and can plan any kind of party down to the tiniest detail.  Just call me if you need help tying together a menu, theme, invitations, table-scape, decorations, or anything!  I never go half way (or even only 100% of the way) and am very particular about planning menus...In fact I'm a little OCD about it...so please don't bring anything to one of my dinner parties unless you are asked to bring a specific dish - it is a BIG sign of disrespect in my opinion if you do - unless its alcohol :)

One thing that you will find about all of my recipes is that my seasoning measurements aren't always exact....I usually do it by feel and taste...so season my recipes to your liking.

I was also very proud to have one of my recipes chosen as RecipeZaar's "Recipe of the Day" on 11/27/09 with my Turkey, Cranberry, & Pesto Sandwich.

    Favorite Foods

In general I LOVE all types of food...I love to try new things, experiment, and re-create dishes in my own style.  The most fun thing for me is attempting to re-crete foods that are low fat/cal and fresh!   I absolutely LOVE the challenge of making traditional favorites healthy...its a blast!

I harshly dislike Olives and Goat Cheese.

My go-to "comfort" favorites include Sushi, Fish Tacos, ANYTHING with Green Chilis, Tamales, PIzza (especially really really good greasy meaty pizza), a good steak or burger with blue cheese, greasy crispy buttery traditional hot wings, ANYTHING with fresh beautiful heirloom tomatoes, the list goes on and on...

My favorite all time restaurant is T. Cooks at the Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix, AZ.

My favorite "guilty pleasure" is In-n-Out - Cheeseburger Animal Style & Fries Animal Style!!!

My favorite nostalgic place is "Mad Mex" in Pittsburgh...the tiny one in Oakland, just off the Pitt campus. I live in Arizona where mexican food is fantastic, I loved Mad Mex when I was in college and NEED to go back soon!
