    New Topic Can I freeze cooked black beans? in Cooking Q & A

    "I'm using black beans a lot these days, so I want to start cooking my own instead of using all those cans. But if I cook a whole pound at once, I'm afraid some might go bad in the fridge before I use them all. Could I just freeze them for awhile? With their liquid?

    "I was at a holiday open house the other night and someone had brought some outrageously good chocolate cookies. I thought they probably had been made with special dark chocolate, but I was told that the secret was cayenne and maybe some chili of some kind.     About Me

    I'm a novice cook -- I've always resisted following recipes, but I've decided that I could use some discipline. :-)
    I have a 12 year old son who's a fairly picky eater, so I'm always on the lookout for stuff he'd like. He's still pretty much at the one-at-a-time stage -- doesn't like casseroles, for instance.
    Not much more to tell. Professionally, I'm a software QA engineer, which means I like recipes that are easy and quick.

    Favorite Foods

    Pasta dishes of any kind
    "Main dish" type of salads
    Shrimp and fish, but mostly if someon ELSE cooks it!
