SW Michigan
I'm a very busy working wife, mom and true, die hard Michigan State Spartan! Dubbed by my husband as a "messie chef", I love to cook and try new recipes out on my family. I also have quite a cookbook collection and practically read them like novels. What can I say, I love food and appreciate all kinds. I love to sample regional favorites on various trips. I'm also a mom of 2 wonderful girls...8 and 5 years old. I love the Rachael Ray and OAMC concepts so I'm able to spend more time with my family.
I became a lifetime member of WW after the birth of my first child. During that time I ate so many foods that I now know are full of chemicals and artificial sweeteners. I'm learning that it's hard to find out what is truly healthy and low in fat and calories at the same time. Recipezaar has been my savior for finding these recipes. My new rule is indulge when necessary but in moderation with "real" foods...real sugar, real butter. I'm bringing more organic and farmstand foods to the table every day and I'm hoping we'll see less chemicals on our grocery stores in the near future.
I love many different types of foods, but really crave southern cooking [thanks to my grandma] and almost any Italian food. Specific absolute favorites are good Fried Chicken, Fetuccini Alfredo, Crab Cakes, and Crab Rangoon! Don't let my list fool you... I do try to eat healthy and it's very important to me that my kids eat a variety of good, nonprocessed and preservative free foods.
At any type of gathering I'm usually asked to bring my family's rendition of a Mac & Cheese, My Warm and Toasty Spinach and Artichoke Dip and my husband loves my Too Hot To Handle Vodka Pasta.
I'm looking forward to finding new faves to make my own!
