I am a flaming liberal in a town of raging conservatives. I am agnostic and open-minded. I love science, especially archaeology. I have a master's degree in anthropology. I like to scrapbook and cook. I love to use fresh herbs and vegetables from my garden when I cook. I love to entertain friends and family. My favorite cookbook is An Invitation to Indian Cooking by Madhur Jaffrey. My passions are a clean environment and social justice, and fresh, locally produced food. My pet peeves are ignorance, racism, and zealotry. I recently moved from a large metropolitan area where I could get any kind of food to a smaller town that is ethnically undiverse and where arugula is an exotic ingredient. It can be frustrating trying to cook here. I have to stock up on ingredients when I travel.
There are not many foods I don't like. I'm in heaven when I have chocolate and lobster (not together!) I love Italian, Mexican, Greek, Indian, and Middle Eastern foods. I'm famous for my Indian food and my homemade pies. I love anything that is fresh, homemade, and doesn't contain canned soup or jello or other over-processed ingredients. My favorite restaurant is Johnnie's Bar and Grille in Cleveland.
