    About Me

I am a 70 year old married male. My wife Joan and I have lived all our lives in Canada. We are retired. I worked for Ford motor Co. for 35 years as a programmer analyst. Food has been a hobby of mine for most of my life ,my fraternal grandmother was a swamper at the age of 14. To those of you who do not know what a swamper was, that was the cook in a logging camp. She would go into the forest at the end of october, taking with her dried foods such as flour and beans and livestock mostly chicken and sheep and prepare 3 meals a day plus snacks for up to 30 people. So I guess that started me in my love of food. Joan and I have toured about 12 countries and 30 of the United States, ^The countries and people of Scandinavia are our favorites. My main claim to fame when it comes to dishes are my white chili,my lamb paella and my grandsons favorite grilled vegetables with thai sauce. By the way my grandson was the chef at the Seattle Marriot. My grandmother by the way lived to 93. My 2 brothers and my sister all are in good health and I am the bany of the family. We are having a Whyte family reunion in the Toronto area this june and there will be lots of great food. Joan and I celebrated our 50th anny in Germany last June.
