Quitman, La
hi! my name is christy, i'm 30, and i live with my fiance, brian, and our cats rhett, sophie, gracie and parker, and westie, stella. i love cooking, and always have. my first "specialty" was deviled eggs, from a recipe i learned in kindergarten (no surprise, i normally got to make them for easter!). i don't have any one favorite cookbook, because i love to look for recipes everywhere-books, newspaper, and online ;). i've gone through many odd food phases in my short time, but i've always had a severe distaste for three things- bananas, whipped cream/cool whip, and most of all, mayonnaise. i like simple recipes, but sometimes, getting into a more involed recipe is almost therapeutic. and, i get a great reward in the end!
i love to bake, experiment with recipes, and constantly one-upping myself in the kitchen. i tend to make the same basic thing a lot, i just use different add-ins for a different taste/effect. the best thing for this experimentation is brownies. i like several foods (although i'm horribly picky, usually), but the things i crave most are crab meat and cream cheese won tons, almond tea, popeye's biscuits, and my aunt's homemade macaroni and cheese. my favorite restaurants are chili's (hello, southwest eggrolls!), and any good chinese place.
