    Reviewed Durkee Famous Sauce Clone

"I moved to Idaho last year from VA and it has not been easy to find DFS. In my search, I came across this recipe clone and decided to make it. Since the original uses white vinegar, I decided to use 1/4 C white and 1/4 C balsamic. I think you could successfully use all white vinegar and it would not affect the results. It would certainly more close..."

    Reviewed Asparagus Lasagna

"Excellent! I think FOUR lbs. of asparagus is not necessary. I had maybe one lb. if that. I did follow a commenter's suggestion and added some cooked shredded chicken (approx. 1/2 lb.) What I meant to do (but forgot) was to add some garlic or chopped shallots. I subbed Brummel & Brown for the butter. Also, I omitted the whipping cream step entirely..."

Reviewed Black Bean Stoup and Southwestern Monte Cristo Sandwiches

"Oh wow! I made the Black Bean Stoup --- hubby and I loved it! He's trying a lower-carb diet at this time, and this recipe is just the thing! I didn't have the jalapenos, and hubby hates cumin so I only added 1/2 tsp., but I added chili powder and other herb seasonings I had on hand, plus chopped ham to make it more of a complete meal (not that it needs it, but it makes it extra-yummy). I always go for reduced or no-sodium beans & tomatoes whenever possible, so adding salt substitutes and no-salt seasonings makes it more interesting. This was so quick and easy to make. It will be a staple in our house from now on!

    About Me

I've always loved cooking and baking. I'm known for my non-greasy eggrolls.

I also love music and indulge with a little piano playing now and then.

I try to C&W line dance a few times a month with my pals.

I am a conservative libertarian in my political views. I believe in the Second Amendment, capitalism and the Constitution.
Liberals irritate me when they talk politics.

    Favorite Foods

French fries, pizza, ice cream. (However, I don't indulge very often so I can maintain a slim figure. But I do love them.)

When I'm trying to eat healthy, I make my own stir-fries and salads using a variety of veggies.
