I do par-cook the meat to render some of the fat off. We live in Miami ( the land of picadillo and this is the best one I have eaten ... so definitely a winning recipe. I serve it with black beans and rice, with plantain chips to garnish/scoop it up ;-"

"Easy recipe - I was out of jalapenos but wanted a little zing so I used some sricacha pepper sauce instead - I also added a splash of vinegar to help bring it along. I didn't add garlic - but the sriacha has some in it."

"Good stuff ! Ate with grilled curry seasoned chicken quarters. Would be good with a grilled chopped chicken breast on it too wrapped in a tortilla or pita - I will make some curry-mustard sauce to go with it next time around !"

"Thanks for an easy and tasty recipe ! I used country style boneless pork ribs - it was good and husband and MIL liked it - will make this again. I did not cook for 24 hours since it was ribs and not a roast - just started the crock at 9am and it was definitely ready by 7pm."

"Good jamaican home cooking ! Easy recipe using curry powder from the grocery store. I used a whole chicken cut up, used chicken bouillon & hot water instead of stock and because I was also out of coconut milk I used a few tablespoons of coconut cream mixed into evaporated milk - I added extra curry powder to taste and it is simmering away as I ty..."
