    About Me

    Mother of eight - ages 18 months, 9, 11, 13, 16, 21, 23, and 26 and Grandmother to two - ages 3 and 5.

    For me, I find a lot of enjoyment in trying new recipes. Sometimes I will prepare all new meals every night for a couple weeks. It's an adventure, and it is rare to find one that won't work well.

    Often it is a challenge to adjust recipes due to the fact that I cook for 9-12 people every night. Plus there is always someone who doesn't like something in any given recipe - mushrooms, walnuts, celery, etc., but I find a way.

    My New Year's resolution for 2009 is to start dressing my table and learn the art of tablesetting or tablescaping.

    Favorite Foods

    Personally, I love bold flavors and fresh ingredients; however, I have a husband who is a bit picky and eight children (all but one living at home) with varying tastes. It can make meal planning a challenge.

    My least favorite foods are: beets, liver, eggplant, lamb, duck (I've yet to have lamb or duck prepared properly - by me or another..too gamey tasting), and thick egg noodles.
