    About Me

    I have a passion for all things food related.  I seek out memorable dining experiences that provide me with the total package of marvelous ambiance, cuisine, and service.  I then attempt to recreate those same dishes in my own kitchen.  I am not a trained chef, just a home cook with obsessive personality traits. 

    I do not live in a foodie friendly town, so most of my high end dining takes place out of Cedar Rapids.  Most often I am creating dishes at home.  I prefer not eat a meal out, that I can make better in my own kitchen. 
    What would be the point?  

    You will see that I use almost no dairy products in my cooking.  That is only because I have a dairy allergy.  Soy milk replaces most of he milk in my dishes. Tofutti Better that Cream Cheese and Tofutti Sour Supreme are also dairy replacements in my recipes. Feel free to substitute the ingredients  with good 'ol cow if you wish.

    I believe in eating well, I buy organic when I can and I prefer free range meat and eggs with no hormones.  I use real butter and real sugar, finding that the chemicals in "diet" products not something I want to put in my body.  I use very few processed foods, and even make my own sausage (have you read the ingredients in sausage?.  

    My blog will have recipes, restaurant reviews, kitchen gadget information, cooking tips,and photos of successful dishes.
