Reviewed Pasta E Fagioli (Italian soup with Italian Sausage

     |  By PanNan

"Though I sliced up Italian sausage and used beef broth instead of chicken, I made the recipe as written. Lovely. I'm going to try it again just "as written", because I'm quite sure it will be wonderful as well. It has a surprisingly "slow-cooked" taste and texture for the short prep/cook time. This soup's a keeper, PanNan, thanks!"

"The first time I made this crust, I should have been wearing my bi-focals, because I misread a measurement. It tasted so good, though, we gave it a second try.Prepared exactly as written, this recipe is the closest I have ever come to a pizzaria crust from my kitchen, and I've used dozens of recipes over the years. This one is the easiest of a..."

"Well, Kit, the gals at the forum said this is a delicious sauce, so I tried it out on DH tonight. We both think it just replaced the sauce I have used for years. DEEEElish! I paired it with DH's favorite "Amazing Whole Wheat Crust" (from another site and topped it with mushrooms, and a mix of grated moz and asiago cheeses. Like zoegirl, I was sor..."

"Bravo! I came across this recipe looking for something "different" to munch on. I love Quesadillas, but I don't like a bunch of stuff in them. Nif's recipe is exactly like the quesadilla I had the first time I ever had them in a restaurant, and actually I make my own exactly this same way already, but just wanted to offer a "high five" for a simpl..."

Thanks so much for posting it!We really don't care for quite that much rosemary, so I substituted the rosemary and oregano with 1 T. dried Italian seasoning, and used fresh grated asiago and romano cheeses (because it's all I had on han..."

"I made this for dinner last night. My husband absolutely loved it, and insisted upon eating the leftovers for dinner tonight. (He said to tell you *five stars* btw! :This has to be the easiest dough I've ever worked with, and I do think the cornmeal adds a special something. I did not have med. grind, so I added 1/4 c. fine ground in mine, jus..."

"Really nice sauce. I've had a recipe similar to this one I've used for a while now, but something always seemed to be "missing". I never would have thought to use the lemon juice, and it's the perfect addition! Thanks much!"

"Very nice flavor. I had to use milk because I didn't have any cream on hand, and also used some onion and garlic powder, and the dry mustard others suggested. We liked this well enough with just the milk, but I will definitely try it again with cream. Thanks, Carla!"

"John, I have this same recipe, posted elsewhere online. We enjoy it ever so much here in the Northeast during the fall apple harvest.
