Shared Recipe Triple Chocolate Mocha Whole Wheat Biscotti

"We are allergic to nuts and seeds. I had to make my own biscotti because there are none at the stores we could eat. This is based upon the Double-Cholocate Biscotti Recipe from EatWell.com"

    Reviewed Whole Wheat Banana Bread

"Moist and delicious. Very quick and easy as well. I used 1 cup whole wheat and 1/2 cup a/p flour. 2 tablespoon olive oil instead of butter, 1 whole egg instead of 2 egg whites, and topped it with brown sugar and cinnamon. Will be making again. Thank you."

    Reviewed Crumb Topped Banana Muffins

"Moist and delicious, like portable little banana puddings. The topping really puts it over the top. I added a teaspoon of vanilla to the batter as per other reviewers comments - thank you all. We ran out of butter so I used 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil. Replaced 1/2 cup flour with whole wheat flour. I also added 1 cup of blueberries because ..."

Reviewed Seared Tuna With Japanese Salsa

"This is very good and easy to prepare. I half the soy and vinegar because that's a lot of liquid. I up the amount of tomatoes to three and reduced the red onion to half. Since I'm allergic to sesame I had to use olive oil instead. Served with steamed broccoli, there was plenty of sauce to go over the broccoli as well. I cooked the fish a littl..."

    About Me

I love good food. I love looking at food. I love reading about food. I love eating food. Unfortunately, my culinary skills do not match my taste buds. I opt for easy recipes with simple ingredients and low in fat. Recipezaar has helped me learn to cook. I love it. There's always something interesting and new to learn. Oftentime, I learn about foods from other cultures that I've never had before. I love those, as long as I could find the ingredients. The Zaar people seem great, encouraging, helpful and sympathetic. It's like a cooking family - full of kind and loving matriarchs. My family and friends are the main beneficiary of my learning curve.

    Favorite Foods

I love all foods. However, I have allergies to all nuts, peanuts, all seeds (sunflower oil is a real bummer), coconuts and mango. I developed these after I gave birth. My son and I are lactose intolerant as well. So we do not eat Asian foods at restaurants unless it's sushi (and we have to ask them to leave out the sesame whatever). But I manage to eat well regardless. I really miss Chinese Dim Sums but it's the kiss of death so I don't bother. It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
