    About Me

I live alone with my once feral cat, here in Ventura, CA.; about 55 miles NW of Los Angeles & some 20 miles South of Santa Barbara. (Sadly, my Smokee was called Home on 11/28/11)
I am on permanent disability from the County, where I worked for 17 years, due to back injuries & surgeries, Neuropathy & currently dealing w/ the 4th recurrence of cancer.
As my Username might suggest, Nature & Music are 2 of my strongest passions. I enjoy reading both Fiction & Non Fiction as well as Bios & Auto Bios.
I am learning to paint with oils, from PBS(thank you Bob Ross!) & I am reading a book on how to write a screenplay. I have 3, what I consider to be very interesting ideas for screenplays. But time will tell. My oldest niece sold her first ever screenplay for 10 grand, so I figure, why not try! But my natural talents lie, not with the pen or paint brush, but rather, with my guitars, piano or the drums, which I played for some 30 years.
As far as cooking, I am more than a TV Dinner guy, but less than a Chef ! I fix what I enjoy & enjoy what I fix, most of the time!
I like to BBQ & most often, of thw weather does not allow a BBQ, I marinate, then sear Top Sirloin, any steak, then put on a rack in the oven & finish it that way - less fat & more juicy & flavorful. I don't fry a lot, but when I do, I use little Olive Oil.
I love flour tortillas & always have them on hand; for soft tacos, burritos, quesadillas &/or nachos & a fave is M/Waved bacon with salsa in a warmed flour tortilla. I can also eat them warmed with lo fat margarine.

    Favorite Foods

Mexican , BBQ,& Italian, with some Chinese on the side! I love fried tacos - one of a very few things I fry - burritos, BBQ'ed anything & garlic potatoes on the grill(In foil), Pizza, Lasagne, Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti & Ravioli, & love Sweet n Sour & Orange Chicken! & give me a pack of Flour Tortillas & can & will use them up for anything !
