    About Me

I began my cooking journey when I left home for college, and my mom gave me her old copies of The Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest; they have been my spiritual guides to the kitchen.  I'm not a true vegetarian, because I love to try new cuisines (LA's a great place for that!) and many of them are meat-based;  Ethiopian and Indian are my favorites! However, I do not buy or cook meat myself.  I have a loving and supportive fiancé who will eat anything and tell me it's wonderful even when it isn't.  Money's tight, and so every week we buy whatever veggies are on sale and I figure something out-- I couldn't do it if it weren't for this website and all the people who contribute such amazing recipes!  I don't have much time to cook (I'm a grad student), but when I have free time I also love to knit, crochet, and play video games.

    Favorite Foods

There are too many great restaurants and cuisines around here to pick just one!  I love food that is heavily spiced, and I love trying different types of bread.  If I had to pick just one favorite, though, it would be the little stand that makes Korean sweet pancakes for $1 each in Koreatown.  I could eat those pancakes forever.
