    Reviewed Company Pot Roast
     |  By Norma M.

"This had to be one of the best pot roasts I have made....so tender and flavorful. Loved the idea of including leeks, too. I even bought an Emeril cast iron pot just to try it. The men in my family couldn't get enough. The smell coming from the oven as it cooked was heaven. The red wine made a wonderful base for the stock. Try it!"

"I made this for our dinner group. Obviously it was Greek night. We loved this recipe. I served it as a side to a wonderful boneless roast lamb. The flavors were great and very Greek. One suggestion would be to omit the whole cloves unless you have them in a little net bag. I used 1/2 t. ground cloves just because I was afraid I'd never find ..."

"I made this for my progressive dinner group as an appetizer. The presentation was very colorful and I had raves throughout from the group. I could not find the marinated herring so I opted for smoked herring; drained the oil and covered the fish with red wine and allowed it to marinate overnight. I doubled the recipe and used 5-6 small potatoe..."

    Reviewed Good Eats Roast Turkey
     |  By Norma M.

"We jumped on the 'brining bandwagon'. Like everyone has said...it IS the only way to prepare a turkey. We will never do another turkey any other way. We lined a large 5 gallon bucket with two clear garbage bags for the brining then put the bucket out in the porch overnight with the night temps in the 30's.
Our only concern was when the turk ..."

"I made this for my Progressive Dinner group. We really enjoyed it. I added another set of layers in the middle. I couldn't find raw pistachios so I used cooked but soaked them and allowed them to dried before chopping them in the food processor. They were fine. My Greek mother-in-law always scored through the top of the phyllo before baking to ..."
