German mid-century immigrant, living in Sierra Foothill community. Love to cook, sew, garden, family gatherings, hiking, and a good beer. Most of my recipes come from my maternal grandmother, Oma Marie-Luise, who was the chef in our family-run Gasthaus. Her recipes were done "over the thumb" -- no specific measurements given, just an ingredient list/quatities that she had in her notebook, which she took to market. Have transcribed most of them into English-equivalents. Also had a wonderful Puebla-TexMex Aunt, who passed along some of her recipes... again, all by ingredient lists and memory of how her mom made things. I am a lucky gal to live in America.
Mexican and German foods.
