    My Journal

I have no recent activity to share.

    About Me

I love to cook but have not done near what I did before I lost my husband in 2008.  I have 2 grown childen, Jessica and Jeremy.  We always ate together at the dinner table but it seems that so many people no longer do that.  I think it is sad as I always believed that meal time was a very important time spent as a family.

I am dating a wonderful man who also shares my interest in cooking and we often cook together.  It is so enjoyable to have him plan the menu and instruct me on what to do.

I love looking at cookbooks and browsing through recipes on the web. Even if I don't get to fix every one, I just like to look.

The office I work at has about 75 employees and we always think of reasons to bring food to share. Everyone is always anxious to try whatever I bring.

I love to bake all kinds of cookies and make all kinds of candy at Christmastime. I am most called upon for my VERY hot cinnamon hard candy.

I must confess my pet peeve regarding some cooks on this recipe sight.  I don't like to read reviews where the person has added different ingredients or done something different to the recipe.  It's not the posted recipe any more!!!  It's your own so post a recipe on your page and leave the original one alone.  It's an insult to the cook, if you ask me.  Sorry.  I had to add my 2 cents.Laughing

    Favorite Foods

Chicken or pasta dishes are probably my favorites. I really enjoy a good prime rib steak, medium rare. I love peanut butter, cheese and candy. I do not like spicy hot foods as I am a whimp and cannot take it.

My favorite restaurant is a local mexican restaurant called "Ted's Cafe Escondido". Mainly it is my favorite because they serve homemade flour tortillas (the best!), queso sauce, homemade salsa and homemade "thin" tortilla chips as what they call their "set-up". All of this is free with an entree but sometimes I just order the "set-up" as my meal for a small price.
