I just graduated from college and now that I'm not being fed by an institution I have started really cooking. I've always enjoyed preparing food and experimenting with new ingredients. I generally prepare very simple dishes (because I'm poor) that don't take long to prepare, but I am always up for new challenges and new tastes.
I love chili with lots of different kinds of beans, I love corned beef and cabbage, squash, potatos, fresh greens of all kinds, hearty whole grains and of course dairy anything. Most of my recipes are what the powers that be would call "sometimes food" or what I call cold weather comfort food. Simple to prepare, tasty, and good for pot lucks or sharing. Most of what I eat on a daily basis is steamed veggies (love steamed cabbage with a little butter and salt and pepper!) and lean meats and fish. I'm working on "whole plate" recipes that include these things.
