What's the point in having your cake if you can't eat it, too??

The most defining trait in my life is that I am a mother to two wonderful boys (Tyler, 12 and Zayden, 1 year) and a step-mother to a beautiful little girl (Ashley, 7). Their collective nickname is TAZ because that's about the equivalent of the level of chaos that follows them sometimes. I am also a recent newlywed. After spending 2 1/2 years with him, I finally married the love of my life, Matt. We recently put down roots in the small town of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. It is the most wonderful place on Earth to live. It kind of reminds me of Maybury (with a Wal-Mart). After the birth of our baby, we decided that I was able to become a stay at home mom. It can be stressful at times but I would not give up sharing in every experience that our little guy is getting ready to embark upon for the world!
Seeing that we live in Central Pennsylvania, our family is also a bunch of HARDCORE Penn State Nittany Lion fans! We are...PENN STATE! Matt and I were lucky enough to be given tickets to see Joe Paterno win his 400th game as the head coach of the football team. I cried like I did when my children were born.
The other love of my life is cooking. I didn't really start trying to cook until I was 20, but believe me I have made up for lost time! I absolutely adore baking and I do it whenever I can. I love making Christmas cookies and I have begun hosting our extended families at our home for Thanksgiving and Easter dinners. So far so good.
I love food.com because it allows me to expand my culinary skills and my recipe box with ideas from other people like me. There is something for everyone and I have been a loyal member since 2005. I hope you enjoy my recipes and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Where to begin??
Anything from Micheal's Cafe in Duncannon, PA. It is absolutely the most delicious menu of food that has ever been assembled. Unfortuately, due to the economy they closed their doors at the end of 2010. If you didn't get an opportunity to eat there, you really missed out!
Another big favorite is the "Bunny Burger" from the Red Rabbit Drive-In along Rt. 22/322 in Duncannon, PA (right next door to Micheal's!). If you ever pass by, stop in and try one. It takes a little while to get your food but it is well worth the wait!
Other than that, there is a LONG list of food that I love:
Buffalo Chicken ANYTHING
Seafood Crepes from Roux in New Orleans
Honestly, I love most anything Creole or Cajun
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Steak (Rare Only!)
Honey Grilled Salmon
Anything cooked over a campfire
And the list goes on forever...
