"This recipe sounds very similar to the one my mother used to make --- which was the best --- and her recipe is the only one I will make now. And I have tried many over the many years. After you add the catsup to the top ... she often placed a couple slices of bacon on the top...not too much or you'll have too much grease. Also try adding ..."

Without seasoning first I thought it was bland tasting. "

"this recipe sounds similar to an old recipe I have for beef roast...except in the one I have...the liquid is a can of beer...(and water...and a few caraway seeds. When this cooks on top of your stove you wouldn't believe the magnificent aroma which spreads through your house !! "

"Oh my yes...here I am again! In my first review of this recipe..oh dear...forgot to say that the ham and cabbage soup my mother taught me to make...add peeled cubed potatoes !!! make sure there's enough liquid in pot to let potatoes cook in (you would add potatoes as the last ingredient A one pot meal...rye bread goes well with this."

"Oh my gosh..fantastic soup. Who would think these five cans of items would blend so well!!! I also added a touch of Tabasco to kick it up a bit...as one reviewer suggested. Next time though I think I will also use frozen mixed vegetables...give it a bit of crispness...never fancied canned mixed vegetables anyway. Will most definitely make this aga..."
